Job Losses in America

The following article comes from the Heritage Foundation regarding Oreo cookies.  We in the U.S. are facing a loss of jobs not seen for over 40 years.  Yet, those running this government refuse to take responsible action.  The only way the public hears of such outsourcing actions is via underground news, typically found on the internet.  However there are some companies outsourcing work outside the U.S. daily and no one knows — by intent.

For example, IBM has reduced its workforce within the U.S. by well over 75% since 1993!!  Yet no one knows.?  It’s no wonder we have so many people looking for jobs worth having..!  Our manufacturing jobs and clothing industry went out of the country, but the promise was that new technology jobs would be available with much higher salaries!!!?  Hmmm…  things don’t always seem to work out the way we’re told..?  But hey, you can still get a job at Burger King or MacDonald’s!?  I think.?

The Daily Signal

The manufacturer of Oreo cookies recently announced plans to move production of Oreos from Chicago to Mexico, resulting in a loss of 600 U.S. jobs.  This should be a wake-up call to defenders of the U.S. sugar program and other job-destroying trade barriers.

The leading ingredient in Oreos is sugar, and U.S. trade barriers currently require Americans to pay twice the average world prices for sugar.  Sugar-using industries now have a big incentive to relocate from the United States to countries where access to their primary ingredient is not restricted. If the government wants people making Oreo cookies and similar products to keep their jobs, a logical starting point would be to eliminate the U.S. sugar program, including barriers to imported sugar.

This obvious connection between the lost jobs and sugar quotas was missed by many observers. According to one online commenter: “This is why tariff[s] on products coming to U.S must be raised.”  That’s backwards. When protectionist policies like the U.S. sugar program lead to offshoring, the response shouldn’t be to pass new laws to discourage such offshoring or to raise tariffs even higher. The response should be to eliminate government policies that encourage offshoring in the first place.

The loss of Oreo cookie jobs should reinforce a lesson on the job-destroying aspect of protectionist trade policies.  According to a 2006 report from the government’s International Trade Administration: “Chicago, one of the largest U.S. cities for confectionery manufacturing, has lost nearly one-third of its SCP manufacturing jobs over the last 13 years. These losses are attributed, in part, to high U.S. sugar prices.”

That lesson appears to be lost on unions that are supposed to represent the workers losing their jobs in Chicago.  For example, The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union consistently has opposed free trade agreements with sugar-producing countries like Australia, Brazil, and Mexico—the kind of trade deals that just might protect their members’ jobs.

So that’s how the cookie crumbles.

Destroy Israel (First)

People in this country don’t believe that we will ever be in trouble from abroad.  We are too strong you know.  We’re invincible…  much like the British several decades ago.  They at the time believed, like the Romans, that they cannot ever be beaten by mere mortals — other countries.

The following is a movie trailer created to make clear the intent of the middle-east and their view on Israel and their future.  What do you think their plan is once all of the Jews are gone?  They have a second target — America!  (Hopefully we won’t be their first target.?!)

Destroy The Jews

Russian S-300 Missiles and Iran

As if we don’t have enough to worry about, the Russians want to kick things into high gear and insure their buddies (Iran) have plenty of toys to play with..?  Although the Iranians have plenty of missiles now, the Russians want to sell them more.  I mean, after all, we just signed a treaty with those who want to kill Americans which will put another $150B in their pockets!!  They need to spend that money somehow, right?

Read the following article on the ‘deal‘ that is about to go down and the impact it can have on Americans.  No folks, it’s not just the poor folks on the other continent that need to worry.  This mess includes YOU!!

Have you considered traveling to Europe?  Think our aircraft will be safe??  Hmmm??

Motivation and Character

When choosing a person for a presidential position in this country, we should consider ‘what motivated them’ to do or say what they have in the past — not to mention now.  This is part of the ‘actions speak louder than words’ cliche.

Carly Fiorina is one of the leading candidates that we are supposed to be ‘vetting’ (ourselves) now.  What does the American public know about this woman other than she recently worked for H.P.?  (According to my son-in-law she almost ruined the company before she left!)  So why would we want her to be the country’s leader?  And one more thing, we have a serious problem with terrorism in this country.  Ever wonder what her views are on Islam?

The following article is copied from and it gives us some insight into who this woman is or how/if she thinks.

Why I Don’t Trust Carly and Neither Should You

Diary)  |  Source Article

Carly FiorinaTwo weeks after 9/11, on September 26, 2001, Carly Fiorina gave a speech, “Technology, Business and Our Way of Life: What’s Next,” in which she tied courage, leadership, heroes, and “the questions of life and death” to business leaders learning from one of the greatest civilization to ever exist: Islamic civilization. Her claims evidence her exceptional ineptitude or blatant, galling, willful deceit.

Consider her claims about Islam and America. She says, America is “indebted” to the Islamic civilization, whose “gifts are very much a part of our heritage.”

John Adams and Thomas Jefferson would agree, in that they commissioned merchant marines, the Marine Corp, and the Navy to defend America from Islamic invaders.

Consider her claims about the Ottoman Empire.

1. “When other nations were afraid of ideas, this civilization thrived on them, and kept them alive. When censors threatened to wipe out knowledge from past civilizations, this civilization kept the knowledge alive, and passed it on to others.”

Censorship did exist, but under Suleiman’s rule and Islamic Shari’a law, which, is exactly what Islamists are seeking to reinstate today.

2. Under Suleiman three continents were “allowed a degree of peace and prosperity that had never been known.” And, the “Islamic world from the year 800 to 1600, which included the Ottoman Empire and the courts of Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo, and enlightened rulers like Suleiman the Magnificent … contributed to our notions of tolerance and civic leadership.”

One need only read historical evidence of Suleiman’s numerous military conquests, whose methods are nearly identical to those of ISIS.

3. The Ottoman Empire “was driven more than anything, by invention. Its mathematicians created the algebra and algorithms that would enable the building of computers, and the creation of encryption.”

And, 4.: America’s technology industry “would not exist without the contributions of Arab mathematicians.”

The Spartans, Leon Battista Alberti, and Thomas Jefferson were the inventors of encryption; and they weren’t Islamists.

Charles Babbage, an English mathematician, philosopher, mechanical engineer, and scientist originated the concept of a programmable computer in 1822, which he built upon in 1837. He also designed a printer.

Centuries earlier, in 1597, Galileo invented and established a factory that constructed instruments to perform trigonometric calculations, multiplication and division, square and cube root, comparison of areas and volumes, currency exchange rates, monetary interest, and various military problems.

Neither Babbage nor Galileo were Islamists.

Where did Carly come up with this nonsense—from talking to Aladdin on a magical carpet ride?

For the truth, however, Islamabad writer Dr. Farrukh Saleem pointed out in 2005 indisputable facts about the Islamic world.

Today, the 57 Islamic countries are the world’s poorest and most illiterate:

  • The GDP of 57 Muslim countries is less than $2 trillion;
  • Muslims comprise roughly 22 percent of the world’s population but only produce less than 5 percent of global GDP;
  • 20 percent of Arabs live on less than $2 per day;
  • The average growth rate of per capita income in the Arab world hovers around .5 percent per year [worse than everywhere else except for sub-Saharan Africa];
  • 60 percent of Muslims worldwide are illiterate;
  • 50 percent of Arab women cannot read.

Dr. Javaid Laghari adds that 40 percent of the Muslim states’ population falls below the poverty line.

Today, the 57 Islamic countries contribute the least to scientific and technological advancement, let alone have computers or use the Internet. Saleem points out that over a period of more than 105 years, only two (2) Muslims won the Nobel Peace Prize. (They studied Physics and Chemistry in Italy, the U.K., and California). Only eight (8) Muslims are Nobel Laureates.

Shouldn’t a leader of Hewlett-Packard have known at the time of her speech that of the entire Arab population, only:

  • 1 percent has a personal computer—and;
  • .5 percent uses the Internet.

To reiterate the facts, the 57 Islamic countries are the world’s poorest, most illiterate, and contribute the least to scientific and technological advancement, let alone have computers or use the Internet.

Yet—this future—represented by the achievements of Islamic civilizations, is what Carly suggested should be America’s hope. Two weeks after 9/11.

A former CEO who “created a larger company with more debt,” laid off 30,000 employees, expanded Hewlett-Packard’s outsourcing while not offering a solution to reverse America’s trade deficit, pointed to poverty and illiteracy as the source of America’s hope.

Worse still, what business leader, or any leader for that matter, would point to the very civilization as an example of America’s hope, which had just attacked it two weeks earlier?

Politics, historical facts, and leadership aside, on the matter of “life and death,” which she mentions—for 9/11 survivors—like myself—or the few Christians who have survived genocide in 57 Islamic countries and violence throughout Europe, or kidnapped and trafficked little girls, Carly’s remarks could not be more offensive.

Perhaps she should move to Saudi Arabia where women are prohibited from driving; or Iran, where women are prohibited from working.

Her speech 14 years ago only reveals that Carly has been flying on a mystical magical carpet to nowhere for years.

So, one should ask one’s self, “Do I want another person in the Whitehouse that is friendly with the enemy?”

‘Signs’ of the Times

When evaluating our world’s situation, we should focus on objective reasoning — facts and evidence.  That approach typically leads to a higher level of probability when forecasting the immediate future.

However with that said, there is what I call ‘gray evidence‘ to consider.  Many of you have read about the ‘Four Blood Moons’ and the ‘Shemitah Year’.  These are the sorts of things I refer to as gray evidence.  Although hard to believe by some, there is compelling evidence through history that these things are more than mere coincidence.

The following article is well worth reading.  The author delves into the realm of the ‘gray’ with significant details which predict potential alarming activity this September!  I assure you, I am not attempting to be an alarmist, but merely believe it is better to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.

I think that even the skeptics will find this of interest…

Did Isaac Newton predict major turn in Bible prophecy?

Something to consider is ‘adjusting’ your investment portfolio prior to September.  I’m already hearing rumors from analysts that the market may be due for an adjustment in October..?

Voting in America — A ‘How To’

Americans today are not the same as our forefathers.  The average 10th grader in the 1700’s was more educated and in touch with what was going on in their country  than most Americans today.   Need proof?   Watch the video at the bottom after reading this post and ask yourself how adult Americans can be that ignorant.

So what are we doing wrong, you ask?

When we vote we are all too often very uninformed.  People don’t want to spend twenty minutes researching propositions, bills, etc. — much less candidates for office.  Consequently we currently have, at best, a socialist in the Whitehouse who is rapidly destroying the American way of life.  We are being divided every way imaginable — black vs. white, rich vs. poor, etc.

What should we be focused on when we vote?

The majority of Americans focus on if they like the person running for office.   This means they are focused on the person’s personality.

When evaluating a person (typically over time), we do so based on two things:  personality and character.  Personality is basically how a person acts, speaks, displays emotion, etc.  It’s what we see on the ‘outside‘.  Whereas character is more of what’s going on on ‘inside‘ of the person.  Another way of looking at this is to consider personality what a person says or how they say what they do to make us feel good or bad.  Whereas character is more in tune with their actions and what they doCharacter is primarily based on our principles — the values that drive us.  The old cliche, “actions speak louder than words” comes to mind.  A great example of character is what we do when no one is watching.  If you’re on a golf course and kick the ball where it’s easier to hit, you’re cheating.  (Unless you have an unplayable lie.)  But if no one is watching, you get by with it.  After awhile you will do what you think you can get by with even when people are watching.  There are several examples of this today in recent political history.  (Hillary comes to mind.)

So, when you are trying to decide who you should vote for in the next presidential election, your focus should be on the character of the person being evaluated.  If they have no history to evaluate, you’re probably buying a used car from a shyster.  You have no idea what you’re buying.  (Much like hiring Obama to be our president.)  Unless, you can find a mechanic to inspect the car, you’re probably getting ripped off.!!

How should we look at those running for office, you ask?

Look at what the person has done, evaluate their history.  If they are predominately consistent, they probably have good character.  If they vacillate on issues, they’re trying to tell you what you want to hear and have no principles of their own.  If they say they’re going to do something, ask yourself if you believe they can do it.  For example, if a candidate says they’re going to make Mexico pay for a border fence in America, ask yourself if you really believe they can deliver.  If the answer is ‘no’, and they made you feel good with their statement, you’re probably dealing with a person with good personality and bad character.

Regardless of what they told you during Bill Clinton’s reign, character does countCharacter is what makes a president do what is good for the country, not necessarily what’s good for him!

For those who didn’t even take the time to read this shorter post, I want to thank you for being part of the movement helping to destroy this country — I am just glad you will have to live in it too!  For those who got this far, please consider closely who you vote for because this may be the last time you get to the opportunity to do so…

Vote character, not personality!
